Our Story

Nonno Umberto (Grandpa Umberto) Named in honor of my father is the heart of our family. He opened the original restaurant in 1998, and for years it was a beloved Sarasota landmark where local families, celebrities, and tourists gathered for holidays, traditions, and unforgettable Italian meals. Umberto was famous for his handmade pastas and one the first restaurants to import buffalo mozzarella.

But In 2024, a devastating hurricane destroyed everything. At 86 years old, Nonno Umberto & His wife Graziella decided it was time to retire but our family refused to let his legacy fade.

While the building of the restaurant sat in limbo, our family kept cooking, kept working and kept dreaming. We ran our Italian food truck for a year, bringing the spirit of the restaurant to communities all across Florida. Through resilience we brought the flavor and passion of our heritage everywhere we went.

and now the Restauarnt is coming back stronger modernized elevated but still holding the soul of Nonno Umbertos Original vision.

We are proud to return to St. Armands Circle with the best family Italian high quality meats, seafood, brick oven pizza , desserts full alcohol and wine bar and crafted cocktails.

This is more than a restaurant it is our Love letter to family, to resilience, and to the legacy of the man who started it all.
